This Masterthesis investigates how spontaneous fluctuations in arousal, as indexed by pupil size, modulate the reorienting of attention. Using an exogenous cueing task with short and long cue-target intervals, it is examined whether this relationship follows a U-shaped or inverted U-shaped pattern. The findings contribute to a better understanding of how internal arousal states shape our ability to flexibly redirect attention in response to external stimuli.
