The Library has extended opening hours during the exam period and offers 460 additional study spaces on the weekend of 19 and 20 October. Don’t forget to bring your UvA student card; access is not permitted without it. Want to study effectively? Join the guided study sessions, available both in person and online. Check the crowd levels in advance on the study spaces page.

Before heading out, check which location is the least crowded via the study spaces pageExternal link. This will help you find a comfortable spot to focus. For booking collaboration rooms or study booths, check UvA Spacefinder (MapiqExternal link). 

University Quarter, on the weekend

The P.C. Hoofthuis will be open on the weekend of 19 and 20 October from 09:00 to 21:00. A total of 460 additional study spaces will be available.  

Roeterseiland Campus, additional study spaces

From Monday 21 to Thursday 24 October, several lecture rooms in Building J/K will be open for study. You can use 29 rooms on the ground floor and in the basement from 08:00 to 20:00.

Stricter access policy

 During exam periods, a stricter access policyExternal link is in effect. Please note that the Library is only accessible with a valid UvA student or staff card. Make sure to bring your physical card, as access is not possible without it.

Join the special guided study sessions during the exam period. Daily from 10:00 to 22:00, you will study together with fellow students in a quiet environment, supported by a host who monitors the Pomodoro timer and schedule. Attention will be given to relaxation, with short meditations led by the student psychologist and peer-led check-ins to help you maintain your focus and reduce stress.These sessions take place in the special Focus Room of the University Library Singel or online via Microsoft Teams.
