Requesting documents

You will automatically receive your Proof of Enrolment by e-mail 24 hours after completing your enrolment. From that moment onwards you can also download and print the declaration via SISExternal link, under ‘Communication’.

You cannot receive a Proof of Enrolment before you have fully finalised your enrolment. For more information, see the page on checking the status of your enrolment in SIS.

Need a stamp and/or signature on your Proof of Enrolment?

Come by the Central Student Service Desk on campus with a valid proof of identification. Your Proof of Enrolment will then be stamped and signed immediately.

Are your enrolled at the UvA and want to register at another educational institution for an additional degree programme or a minor? Then you may need a Proof of Paid Tuition Fees (Bewijs Betaald Collegegeld, BBC).

If you have already paid your tuition fees at another educational institution and wish to pay with a BBC at the UvA, see the page concerning payment with a Proof of Paid Tuition Fees.

Steps in Studielink

Take the following steps to request your BBC via Studielink:

1. Go to the ‘Payment’ tab and select ‘Enter payment details’.
2. Enter the country your bank is located in.
3. Select the payment option ‘Proof of Paid Tuition Fees’.
4. Select the University of Amsterdam (UvA) to request your BBC.
5. Agree to Studielink requesting your BBC from the UvA and forwarding it to the educational institution you wish to pay with your BBC.

Take note of the following:

• You can only request a Proof of Paid Tuition Fees if you are fully registered at the UvA and you are entering your payment details for the same academic year at the other academic institution.
• If the other academic institution cannot exchange a digital BBC with the UvA, Studielink will alert you to this. Instead, request a BBC by using this formExternal link. The UvA will then send the BBC directly to the other educational institution.
• The other institution decides on the terms and conditions for accepting the BBC.
• You cannot request a BBC if you take a pre-Master's programme at the UvA.

Do you need a tuition fee invoice, for yourself or for an employer who is paying your tuition?

• Choose: Invoice tuition fee. Now you can select if you want to have an invoice with your name on it, or an invoice for your employer or your company.

You can download and print a copy of your academic transcript via SISExternal link, under ‘transcript’.

Certified copy of your academic transcript

For a certified copy of your transcript, make a request by using this formExternal link. Alternatively, you can visit the Education Desk or Central Student Service Desk to get a certified copy immediately. You will need to show a valid ID card.

Occasionally an institution will ask you to have a document completed and signed by the UvA confirming your status as a UvA student.

Fill out your details in the corresponding form and upload the formExternal link.

You should receive a stamped and signed copy via e-mail within five working days. Please note that you should not enter any information the university needs to fill in.

Alternatively, come by the Central Student Service Desk on campus with a valid proof of identification. Your copy can then be signed and stamped immediately.

Exceptions

Are you going on exchange and do you wish to apply for a reimbursement for public transport abroad at DUO? Then remember to include a proof of the start and end dates of your exchange alongside the form when you send this or hand this in to the Central Student Service Desk.

Do you wish to have a proof of attendance completed for your Erasmus programme? Get in touch with the Education Desk.

You will automatically receive your Statement of Termination of Enrolment via email within 24 hours after your request for terminating your enrolment has been completed. From that moment on you have a 90-day window within which you can download and print your Statement of Termination of Enrolment via SISExternal link, under ‘Communication’. You cannot receive your Statement of Termination of Enrolment before your enrolment has been terminated.

If your enrolment expires on 31 August, you will not receive your Statement of Termination of Enrolment automatically and need to request this online by using this formExternal link.

Require a stamp and signature on your Statement of Termination of Enrolment?

Come by the Central Student Service Desk on campus with a valid proof of identification. Your Proof of Termination of Enrolment can then be signed and stamped immediately.

If you are still waiting for your diploma, but have you already received confirmation of graduation, and need a proof of graduation in the meantime - for instance for an application for a Master’s programme - you can request a graduation statement.

Please note that you can only make this request once your graduation date has been processed by your faculty in SISExternal link.

• Log in to SISExternal link
• Select ‘My courses’
• Check if your graduation date is visible

Do you need a certified copy of your degree certificate? You can request this on campus at the Central Student Service Desk. You will need to bring your original diploma and a valid proof of identification to receive a certified copy of your degree certificate.

Degree certificates of other educational institutions can only be certified if your need them for your application at the UvA.

The Department of Records and Information Services (DIV) of the UvA can provide a certified copy of your degree certificate and transcript. If you have lost your degree certificate you can request an extract from the examination register. DIV can also provide a statement of graduation or a statement of registration. Extract of your diploma

Students and alumni can request an extract of their diploma themselves, in digital or paper form, from the DUO websiteExternal link. It is a valid proof of your diploma. It does, however, look different to your original diploma and diploma supplement.
