It soon became clear that there was a need for a way to quickly and efficiently rinse your cup. As yet, there was no ready-made solution in the market. That is why Facility Services gave an assignment to students from the Faculty of Technology of the HvA.

Students from the minor Start up Your Business In Technology (SYBIT) have been enthusiastically set to work on this issue. The result is the tech-startup Rinse&GoExternal link. They created a practical rinsing facility for dirty coffee cups. A first pilot setup, which was not yet connected to water supply and drainage was tested recently at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) and was successful.

Pilot setup Roeterseiland

In this second pilot, the rinser is connected to water supply and drainage. The next two months you can try out the rinser at Roeterseiland in building B1 (next to the coffee machine). The coming period Rinse&Go will further develop the rinser facility and evaluate its use. Are the cups cleaned properly, how economical is the rinser with water and does it not create too much mess when rinsing? If this test concludes positively, then consider a possible follow-up within the UvA.
