A new perspective

During the first week, various experts will offer new perspectives on objects created or acquired in a colonial context. Themes explored include the emergence of the printed book in the Dutch East Indies, the representation of Suriname in prints and illustrations, the archiving of the work of theatre makers of colour in theatre collections at the Allard Pierson and much more.

The second week focuses on a range of themes related to the history of the book. You will find out how to value old books, how to use social media to inform people about rare books, and you'll learn about illustrations in medieval manuscripts and early modern books.
