The colourful juices are produced by Dutch farmers and will be available at the restaurants of Roeterseiland, Science Park and Maagdenhuis starting Thursday, April 20. Part of the proceeds from these juices will go to Young Gay Farmers, an organisation dedicated to the acceptance of queer people in rural areas.
Mariska (22) the founder of Young Gay Farmers explains: "At school, at work, at home: the farming world is mainly a straight world. I didn't dare tell my parents until I was nineteen. I now know more young farmers who do not dare to come out of the closet. Afraid of the reaction of family, friends, fellow villagers. It is precisely for this group that I started Young Gay Farmers. A safe place where everyone is welcome and can be themselves. Something that unfortunately doesn't happen everywhere in rural areas."
Pride Juice is a 100% locally produced fruit and vegetable juice in the colors of the rainbow. Purple is the first colour available. The other colours will follow. By supporting this initiative, you show that you stand for diversity.
