UvA-apps on your computer

Apps.uva.nl is the virtual ICT workstation of UvA. It’s like an UvA computer in the cloud which you can log into with any Windows or Mac iOS device. It gives you access to your personal files, apps and software also installed on UvA computers, which means you don’t need to buy expensive software. Below is a list of the apps and software installed on UvA computers that you can use free of charge via apps.uva.nl.

Software on apps.uva.nl

At apps.uva.nl you will find, among other things 

  • Stata and IBM SPSS: providing insight into and analysing data;
  • ArcGIS: software for managing, processing, analysing and sharing aerial photos and satellite images, including imagery tools and workflows for visualisations and analyses and a large collection of imagery;
  • Atlas.ti: qualitative data analysis and research;
  • MatLab: environment for numeric computing, visualisation and programming;
  • PowerBI: data visualisation; 
  • Audacity: editing and modifying audio, including effects like reverb, noise reduction and compression;
  • ChemDraw: programme for drawing molecules and structural formulas;
  • KeePass: password manager;
  • RStudio: integrated development environment, programming tool.
