Activate your student ID card
Online activation
You will not be able to use your student ID card to pay for things like the printer and vending machines until it has been activated. You can activate your card online in the period around the start of the academic year, i.e. from the beginning of August to 1 October and from mid-January to the beginning of March. Log in to mijnuvapas.nl and select the option 'Activate card'. Your student ID card is now ready for use.
I cannot activate my card online or upload a photo
In some cases, you may not be able to upload the passport photo for your student ID card on mijnuvapas.nl. If this is the case, send an email including your passport photo, UvAnetID and date of birth to servicedesk-fs@uva.nl. Facility Services will then upload the passport photo on your behalf. You can also send an email if you are unable to activate your card online for some other reason.
Activating your card at a UvA Service Point
Outside of the period surrounding the start of the academic year, you will only be able to activate your card at one of the UvA Service Points. This process requires a valid identity document (ID, passport, drivers’ licence). You will be able to use your student ID card once you have completed this process.
