Exam software

The UvA uses software called Ans Exam for scheduled exams. Because this is a web application, you can log with your UvAnetID in from any computer in any browser. This series of videosExternal link shows you how Ans Exam works.

Preventing fraud

The UvA takes strict measures against fraud. Follow these suggestions to avoid accidentally committing fraud:

• Follow the instructions of the invigilators. They'll make sure you and your fellow students can take the exam as smoothly as possible.
• Write the exam yourself and focus entirely on your own work until you've left the examination room.
• Be considerate to your fellow students: don't talk during the exam even if it's not about the examination. The invigilator can't tell the difference, and will be quick to report fraud. There may be students in the room who have been granted extra time, so don't start a conversation in the room after your exam has finished – wait until you've left the room.
• Make sure your phone and other devices such as smartwatches are switched off and stored in a closed bag with the rest of your things (preferably in a locker). Don't keep your phone in your pocket.
• Remain seated until the invigilator allows you to leave your seat. If you've finished your exam, put your hand up and wait for the invigilator to come to you.
• Make sure that you hand in all your exam materials, including scrap paper.
