This thesis explored the relationship between Childhood Sexual Abuse, psychopathic traits, and schema modes, with a focus on the Detached Self-Soother and the Healthy Adult. By examining how trauma affects personality development, the study investigated whether a less developed Healthy Adult and greater reliance on the Detached Self-Soother contribute to the emergence of psychopathic traits. Data was collected through questionnaires, including a newly developed Scale on the Healthy Adult Mode (MHAS) that provides an in-depth assessment of the Healthy Adult mode’s facets. This research aimed to clarify the protective role of the Healthy Adult in the victim-perpetrator cycle and to help better define what “healthy” means in the context of personality functioning.
