Stéphanie Heinerman is a prosecutor at the Public Prosecution Service in Rotterdam. She works in the Investigations Department where she is involved in the investigation and prosecution of high-impact crime cases. High-impact crime cases are serious crimes with a high impact on the victim, his/her environment and the sense of security in society, such as murder/death, violent robberies and drug and arms trafficking. As public prosecutor, she directs the investigation of these cases by the police criminal investigation department. She also prosecutes and handles these criminal cases at the hearing of the court's Multiple Trial Chamber. In addition, Stéphanie is a traffic officer in Rotterdam and deals with the coordination, investigation and prosecution of serious traffic accidents. Before becoming a public prosecutor, Stéphanie worked for a number of years in a policy position at the Public Prosecutor's Office where she dealt with combating (international) corruption and large-scale money laundering. Before that, she worked as a criminal lawyer for several years. Stéphanie started her legal career as a lawyer at the Schadefonds Geweldsmisdrijven. Throughout her career, she has therefore experienced many different perspectives within the criminal process. These perspectives help her in her current position as a prosecutor.
