The global demand for textile products like clothing has been increasing and is expected to continue to increase due to a combination of global economic development and population growth. One way of reducing the environmental impact of the textile industry is the recycling of clothing. In order to stimulate consumers’ demand for recycled clothing, this thesis contributed to the understanding what predicts consumers’ stated WTP for recycled clothing. It specifically looked to the relationship between agreeableness, openness to experience, environmental concern and consumers’ stated willingness to pay for recycled clothing.
