Refurbishment and temporary catering

To adapt the kitchens and facilities to the new concept, refurbishment of the restaurant at Science Park 904 will begin on 23 November, during a period with fewer teaching activities. The espresso bar (Darras) will remain open until 21 December.

Local businesses will begin moving into the refurbished restaurant on 1 February, and the food court will reopen on 15 February. The espresso bar (Darras) will reopen on 1 February.

During the refurbishment, two or three market stalls will be set up at the back of the seating area. Two food trucks (TjapsExternal link and Haarlemse ParelsExternal link) will be stationed outside, and a separate outdoor location will be set up for catering for meetings and events (banqueting).

New food and drink options

Science Park 904

The main building on the Science Park campus will welcome a new branch of De SeringExternal link, a fully vegan community kitchen. Darras CoffeeExternal link (coffee and King Sandwiches) and Italieno (Italian food) will return. The UvA has also selected Padi Emas (Asian food) and Tree of DatesExternal link (sandwiches). The Old SoulExternal link (Surinamese food) will move from Lab 42 to the 904 building.

Lab 42

Parravano’s will take over from The Old Soul in the Lab 42 building. The Italian caterer will run the Star café from 2027.
