For which courses should I/should I not register?
Registering for mandatory courses and electives during the course registration period depends on your year of study. You can find your study programme in the Course Catalogue
- First-year's Bachelor's students: you will be registered for all courses of your first year of study by the Education Desk.
- Second- and third-year's Bachelor's students, elective students and minor students: you register for courses yourself for a whole semester (3 periods). Keep the following in mind:
- Also register for (first year's) courses which you need to retake.
- Electives: You can find more information about possible electives and requirements in the Course Catalogue under ‘Electives’ for your degree programme. For some electives, the rule ‘full means full’ applies. This is also mentioned clearly in the planner. Also be considerate towards your fellow students: do not register for too many electives. You can always swap or add electives later, provided there are places available.
- Transitional arrangements: Look carefully under ‘Transitional arrangements’ in the Course Catalogue for any replacement courses in your curriculum.
- Register your specialisation if applicable.
- Pre-Master's students: you will be registered for all courses of your pre-Master's programme by the Student Administration. Registering for any extra deficiency is your own responsibility.
- Master’s students: you register via GLASS for all the courses from period 1, period 2 – 3 and semester 2 in separate course registration periods. If you are already a Master’s student, please do not forget to check if any transitional arrangements are required.

Is it possible that my courses have lectures, tutorials or exams that take place at the same time?
When creating your timetable, mandatory courses from the same academic year and the previous year are considered; there will be no overlap in the timetable when registering.
If you want to follow courses from several years or elective courses, it is important that you make sure that your courses do not overlap in the timetable when registering. Check whether your chosen courses for the entire semester do not have any overlap in tutorial groups, lectures or exam before registering.
