The UvA’s psychologists offer short-term help for study-related problems, such as lack of motivation or concentration, procrastination, stress, anxiety, fear of failure, and studying with AD(H)D or ASD. They can also help with personal issues that are interfering with your studies, such as depression, worrying, family problems, grief and loss, difficulty making or maintaining connections, insecurity and negative self-image.
The psychologists offer various sessions and workshops, from a short online session to address stress-related complaints to a more intensive group module lasting several weeks. Find out which support options are best for you here.

Not sure if any of our groups address your complaints? Make an appointment for a one-on-one session with a UvA psychologist. You will work together for 15 minutes, to evaluate your problems and determine which type of support would be the best fit. This could be having a series of one-on-one sessions with one of our psychologists, or taking part in a group after all.
We offer both online and in-person sessions. If you need another type of support than what we offer, we will give you a referral to the right source of help. To make an individual appointment click 'Online consultation' under 'Contact' below.
You can turn to the UvA’s student psychologists for help with study-related problems or personal issues interfering with your studies. You do not need a referral from your GP. For an overview of our workshops and groups go to Psychological guidance on the Training, workshops and groups page.
