Repair your bike at the Bike Kitchen

Learn to maintain and repair your bicycle at the Bike Kitchen, a fully equipped, do-it-yourself, workshop on Roeterseiland Campus.

What is your study programme?

At the Bike Kitchen you'll find all the tools you need and instructional videos so you can learn how to repair your bicycle yourself. There's also always someone available to provide guidance and support. 

Do it yourself 

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays you can learn how to repair and maintain your bike so it stays in good shape. The Bike Kitchen is a fully equipped bicycle workshop where you can use high-quality tools and materials under supervision. There's always someone present to answer questions you may have. You can also make use of QR codes to watch explainer videos.

Reserve a time slot

To use the space, you need to reserve a time slot in advance. The fee is €2 for 30-minute time slot. Reserve a time slotExternal link (in Dutch).

Location

The underground bicycle garage at Roeterseiland Campus (REC-A), on the left at the bottom of the ramp (Roetersstraat entrance/exit).

Opening hours

  • Monday: 14:00 – 18:00 
  • Wednesday: 12:00 – 16:00 
  • Thursday: 16:00 – 20:00 

Monthly bicycle repair workshops

In addition to our regular opening hours, we offer monthly workshops. Based on a specific theme or bicycle part, you'll gain knowledge and skills to repair your own bicycle. 

Become a community member

If you'd like to do bike DIY frequently or get more involved with the Bike Kitchen, you can join the Bike Kitchen communityExternal link. For €15 per year you can use all the facilities in the Bike Kitchen, and also attend interesting lectures and fun get-togethers with other cycling enthusiasts.

We'll also ask you to share ideas about the Bike Kitchen and participate as a volunteer. In this way, the Bike Kitchen will become a place for and by cycling enthusiasts.
