Get Ready!

If you're the first person in your family to study at a university, the UvA offers the three-day summer programme Get Ready! (in Dutch only)External link. Get to know the university and be extra well prepared when you start your study programme.

Meet Your Mentor

The Meet Your Mentor programme pairs third-year Bachelor's and Master's students from non-western backgrounds with a mentor from the business world. With the mentor's help, you can better prepare for life after your studies and discover exciting career opportunities.

Baanbrekers ('Trailblazers')

Baanbrekers organises social gatherings for and by students who are the first in their family to go to university. You'll get to know other students with similar experiences and gain study skills together.

National projects

ECHO Award

The ECHO AwardExternal link is a national award presented every year to students with a non-western background who are committed to making the world more inclusive. The UvA can nominate students each year, who then have a chance to win an all-expenses-paid summer course at the University of California, Los Angeles.
