Get Ready!

Are you the first person in your family to start studying? In order to get used to the UvA and start your studies well prepared, we offer you the three-day online summer programme Get Ready. Read more on Get ReadyExternal link (in Dutch).

Meet Your Mentor

This mentoring programme matches Dutch students from an ethnic minority background with a mentor from the business community, in order to better prepare them for the labour market. Read more on Meet Your MentorExternal link (in Dutch). 

International students who need support can reach out to the UvA Student Careers Centre

Trailblazers ('Baanbrekers')

This programme is for students who are the first in their family to attend a university. It's an opportunity for to other who are also first in their families to exchange, and who want to work on their talents and study skills together. National initiatives 

ECHO Award 

The ECHO Award is a national, yearly prize for university students with a non-Western background who are working to making our society more inclusive. Each year, the University of Amsterdam can nominate students for the award. The prize is an all-expenses-paid summer course at the University of California, Los Angeles. Read more about the ECHO AwardExternal link.
