Activities

ESN Amsterdam organises several events each month, like daytrips to famous places in the Netherlands, a Dutch movie night, Dutch lessons and some interesting lectures and excursions in order to integrate and connect the international students. There is also a weekly 'borrel' in a bar and three times per semester a big party is organised for all the students to celebrate their exchange. ESN also puts attention to Dutch national holidays and typical traditions.

Membership, buddy, coach and committees

There are different ways to become a part of ESN Amsterdam. You can be linked to an exchange student by becoming a buddy, you can coach a group of international students during the Introduction Week, join a committee or just become a member.

Membership

All UvA students are welcome to join ESN Amsterdam. For 5 euros you will receive a membership card of ESN Amsterdam which is valid for a year. From that moment you can join the activities and events and you will receive discount at different stores and places in Amsterdam.

Buddy

Every year ESN pairs up the incoming international students with a Dutch buddy. This buddy can show students around in Amsterdam, give tips and tricks about living in Amsterdam and they can get to know each other’s culture. Coaches

At the beginning of each semester ESN Amsterdam organises an Introduction Week for all new international students who are starting their studies at the UvA. Together with another coach you will guide a group of 25 to 30 international students during the introduction days.
