Support for refugee students

Refugees who are either already studying at the UvA or have recently been admitted as students may be eligible for a grant from the UvA Fund.

This grant is a financial contribution towards tuition costs and ranges from €2,500 to €5,000.

Preparing your application

If you’d like to be considered for this grant, first gather all the documents required for your application (in PDF format):

  • a statement of purpose in which you enthusiastically and convincingly demonstrate that the grant will be put to good use
  • a recent resume
  • a transcript of academic records (if applicable)
  • a detailed budget (xlsx)External link

Submit your application

Create an account in the application systemExternal link. Then, under 'Scholarships', submit your application by filling out the application form and attaching the required documents. Both the form and the supporting documents may be submitted in Dutch or English.

Only complete applications will be considered; incomplete applications will be rejected.
