Acculturation is becoming increasingly important to study since the current migration rate is at an utmost high. When individuals are located in a different culture than their heritage culture, they have to adjust to their new environment. Since adolescents spend much time at school, it is essential for acculturating youth to adjust well to their schools. This study examined the influences of parental language proficiency on youth school adjustment in acculturating families and whether the adolescent's cultural identity mediates this relationship. To perform this study, an existing data set was assessed.
