Do you know roughly what the subject of your next paper is going to be, but are you stuck trying to figure out how to structure your ideas into a coherent piece of written work? Learn how to formulate clear and precise prompts in ChatGPT that you can apply to your own written work, in order to create a sparring partner that can provide a feedback loop so as to develop your idea into a paper or thesis. Additionally, these prompts can help you overcome an academic writer’s block by serving as a source of inspiration.

Practical information

The aim of this workshop is to not only teach you how to formulate effective prompts in ChatGPT, but also to expand your skillset and give you the opportunity to apply your newly learned skill to your own coursework. The workshop contains a large practical component hence we ask that you bring a short text, preferably an introductory paragraph or an abstract of a paper that you just started (approximately 100 words), so you can use prompt engineering to further develop your idea into a paper. We will provide a replacement text if you did not bring your own.
