Living and studying in Amsterdam

If you are going to study, a lot of things will change. You will be going your own way.  It takes some experimenting to find out the best way to get to the lectures. Are you going to go by bicycle from your new room or maybe by public transport, or do you live with your parents?  Amsterdam takes some getting used to. You will be dealing with many new impressions. It’s a great challenge, especially for students who have not lived in Amsterdam before.

Organising your time

In addition to becoming accustomed to a new city, you will be immediately submerged in a new education culture during your first weeks of lectures. Exciting, but also lots of fun! You will learn to be more independent and you can organise your own time. Are you going to study first? Or are you going to go to the library (and how do you get there and where do you find the right article)? Are you going to play sports, take a job on the side or meet up with fellow students? And you also need to do the shopping.
