Not everyone wants to study course materials in the same way. During the Week of Digital Accessibility we introduce UDOIT (pronounced You do it): a new tool in Canvas that lets you choose how you read, listen to or watch your course materials.

With UDOIT you request files from Canvas in a different format: an improved PDF, an HTML web page, an MP3 audio file, an EPUB e-book or plain text. This is useful if you prefer to have a text read aloud, read on an e-reader or find it hard to read a scanned file.

How it works:

• Open a file in your Canvas course.
• Select the button for alternative formats next to the file.
• Choose the format that works best for you.

Please note: A converted file can contain errors. Always check important information in the original file from your teacher. For newly added files the button may not appear immediately.
