Win €600 for an inter- and transdisciplinary training course in Portugal
Are you a UvA student with a passion for research that brings together disciplines, societal partners and different forms of knowledge? And would you like to develop your skills further in an international context? Then the international ITD27 Training: Co-creating in place is a unique opportunity! Apply before 30 October and compete for a grant worth €600.
The training will take place from 29 May to 3 June 2027 in Évora, Portugal. The upcoming ITD27 ‘Co-creating in place’ training programme offers students and early-career researchers from various countries and disciplines the chance to collaborate on issues relating to inter- and transdisciplinary research.
To take part, you must register for the full ITD27 conference, including the training session. Lunches and snacks are included; you are responsible for arranging and paying for your own travel to the conference and your accommodation. The Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies is offering a sponsorship worth €600 for one UvA student. This represents a substantial contribution towards the costs of the conference, travel and accommodation, although it will not cover the full amount. Would you like to be considered for this? Please follow these steps:
- Register for the ITD27 Training via the website. To do so, follow the ITD27 registration procedure. The deadline is 30 October 2026.
- Please note: when you register for ITD27, please wait to pay for your ticket (approximately €300) until you know whether or not you have been awarded the grant. If you purchase the ticket anyway and do not receive the grant, you will be liable for the cancellation fees.
- Have you been selected for the training? If so, please send an email to Onderwijslab-iis@uva.nl within seven days of receiving your acceptance letter, including:
- Confirmation of your acceptance onto the ITD27 Training;
- A brief statement of motivation of no more than 250 words;
- Why you wish to take part in the training;
- What you expect to learn from this for your studies or research;
- How you would like to share your experiences or findings afterwards within the UvA or the IIS.
- A brief overview of the expected costs.
- Wait for assessment. The IIS assesses applications on the basis of their rationale and relevance to inter- and transdisciplinary teaching or research. One student will be selected to receive the grant. You will be notified of the outcome as soon as possible.
