What is your study programme?
The Economics and Business Career Centre (EBCC) is looking for a student assistant for a period of 1 year, starting on 1 September 2026, for 16 hours per week. The EBCC is responsible for supporting Economics and Business students prepare for their professional career.
You will be responsible for providing support with internships and career guidance and will be part of a team of 3 student assistants. You must have already earned 120 credits (EC).
Your responsibilities
Internships
- Answering internship related questions via email and the service portal;
- Processing students’ internship applications;
- Advising students on internship procedures via our contact channels and during the weekly walk-in hours;
- Documenting and archiving internship contracts.
Career
- You will help create awareness for the career centre’s services. For example, by giving presentations during lectures or (introductory) events;
- You will help answer students’ questions walk-in hours. For example, you will advise students on how to improve their CV, cover letter and LinkedIn profile;
- You will help organise events;
- You will host a workshop for students (2 hours per week). Within the team of student assistants, you will take turns delivering the 3 regular workshops (about CV and LinkedIn, personal branding, and optimising your career preparation with AI);
- You will post job vacancies and events on the Career Portal;
- You will work on further developing the Career Portal, CV toolkit and events calendar;
- You will collaborate with student associations.
Your profile
- You are a 3rd-year Bachelor’s or (pre-)Master’s student at the UvA;
- You can start on 1 September 2026 (or earlier) and are available for at least 1 year (preferably longer);
- You are flexible, proactive, creative and open to feedback;
- You have excellent communication skills in English. Proficiency in Dutch is an advantage;
- You have the necessary social skills to engage with others, ask for help, and communicate your ideas.
