The winners of the UvA Thesis Prize 2026 have been announced! The jury, consisting of the deans of all faculties, has decided which talented students have written the best thesis in their faculty this year. From these theses, the overall prize winner will be chosen. The overall prize winner will be announced at the UvA Education Day on Thursday 29 October 2026.

What is the Thesis Prize?

The UvA Thesis Prize is an additional distinction on top of the university degree. You can participate if you received a grade of 9 or higher for your Master’s thesis. The grand prize winner of the UvA Thesis Prize 2026 will receive 3,000 euros, and the other (faculty) winners will each receive 1,000 euros. 

The jury selected one winner per faculty, from which the best thesis of 2026 is ultimately chosen. The grand prize of the UvA Thesis Prize will be awarded during the Education Day, on Thursday 29 October 2026.
