Situation in the Middle East

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is further tightening its travel advice for the Middle East, and many flights have been suspended. If you are in the region, share your contact details with your degree programme..

Travel advice

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has revised the travel advice for many countries in the Middle East. Several countries are now classified as code orange or red.  From the UvA, therefore, there is no travel to these areas and the UvA also urges students not to do so.

Are you in an orange or red area? If so, return to the Netherlands or travel to another safe country if this can be done safely.

Flights temporarily suspended

Many airlines have temporarily suspended their scheduled flights. As a result, there are fewer travel options to and from the region.

No information yet about repatriation

At present, there is no information about a possible repatriation by the Dutch government from the region. We therefore advise you to monitor the situation closely yourself.
