Willemijn: ‘In doing so, I will work together the UvA’s Central Diversity Officer Machiel Keestra. In addition to diversity in the broadest sense, I have a number of key priorities for the coming year within EB. One of which is supporting first-generation students in finding their place within their studies and the university.

I have been inspired in this by the work of Corinne Vigreux, who is strongly committed to promoting diversity. Just 2 examples of her work are Codam and TUMO. These are educational initiatives aimed at young people to improve access to higher education and later the labour market. She received an honorary doctorate from the UvA at the recent Dies Natalis and will also be involved in this initiative.’
