Code Red heat: teaching cancelled, exams and tests in scheduled teaching will go ahead
It has been decided that tests in scheduled teaching, exams, PhD defences, inaugural lectures and a degree certificate presentation will go ahead, because rescheduling exams in the final weeks of the academic year is not feasible.
Postponement would also cause problems for, for instance, international students who have already booked their journey home. We understand that sitting exams or working in this heat is far from ideal and demands extra effort from everyone, but we ask for your understanding for the decision now taken.
These extreme weather conditions may amount to force majeure. Students who consequently and unexpectedly miss an exam or test can make use of the regular options. Individual situations will be considered carefully.
What will not go ahead?
- Teaching will not take place
Note: there are a limited number of exceptions, such as lab work and teaching involving graduation presentations. Please check the information from your programme. - Outdoor activities and events
