Break times shown more clearly next academic year

From the 2026–2027 academic year onwards, students and lecturers will see on rooster.uva.nl that break time is scheduled at the end of teaching activities. The timetable has been available since 26 May 2026.

Why will this be displayed differently?

The Central Student Council (CSR), via the Executive Board (CvB), requested a clearer display of break times. The reason is that some students have very long days and lecturers do not always observe the break times.

Please note: nothing is changing about the actual times; only the way break times are shown in the timetable will be clearer. It is mainly a reminder for teaching staff that there are also break times between classes.

What will this look like?

Although the actual times are not changing, from September 2026 onwards you will see a changeover time (break time) in the timetable. This means that all teaching activities will be displayed as fifteen minutes shorter. For example, it will look like this:
