Activities

Throughout the year, you may be asked to take part in various activities.

Open Campus Day

Twice a year, the Open Campus Day takes place as the closing event of the Online Bachelor’s Week. The Open Campus Day is the perfect opportunity for prospective students to get to know the campus through campus tours and by talking to current students in person at the study fair.

You may be asked to:

  • Tell visitors all about your degree programme at the stand at the study fair
  • Give a tour of the campus and explain all the ins and outs of being a student at the Faculty of Humanities

Compensation: €15 per hour

Experience Days

During the Experience Days, prospective students are invited to attend a lecture or tutorial of the programme of their choice. As a student ambassador, you may be asked to be present and answer any questions they may have. These are often about your experiences with the programme, but also very practical matters such as what the timetable looks like, whether you have a part-time job and whether you have student housing.

What can you do? Be present during the session, talk to prospective students and answer their questions about the programme and student life.

Compensation: €20 book voucher per session

Student for a day

Let a prospective student experience for themselves what it is like to follow your study programme. We match interested prospective students with you. You'll take one prospective student, or a small group, to one of your lectures or tutorials. You'll give them a realistic impression of your programme and also talk about your experiences with the programme, the UvA and student life. For this gig we preferably look for first-year students, so that prospective students can experience an entry level class.

Compensation: €10 book/bol.com voucher per prospective student

School visits

During school visits you go, alone or with other student ambassadors (sometimes also from other faculties) to high schools to tell prospective students about your programme and studying at the UvA, in one or more presentation rounds. We only offer school visit for a few Bachelor's programmes.

You may be asked to:

  • Give one or more short presentations about your programme and how studying at the UvA works
  • Share your experiences as a student
  • Answer questions about studying at the UvA, living in Amsterdam and student life

Compensation: €17 per hour (including preparation time and travel time)

Campus Tour

The Campus Tour is a monthly guided tour for prospective students who want to get to know the UvA and Amsterdam better. As a guide you give an extensive tour of the campus, show important locations, talk about studying at the UvA and student life, and introduce visitors to the city of Amsterdam.

This tour is not linked to a specific programme. Participants may be future Bachelor’s or Master’s students.

Compensation: €30 per tour

Meet the Master

Is a student hesitating between different Master's programmes or does someone want to know more about a specific Master's programme? In that case we put them in touch with a Master's student. Together you decide how you want to meet: for example via Zoom, by phone or email. A coffee on campus or a short campus tour combined with a conversation about the Master's programme are also options.

You share your personal experiences and help the prospective student gain a clearer picture of the Master’s programme.

Compensation: TBD

Online marketing

We regularly update our programme websites to better inform our prospective students. For this we often need current students to say a few words on camera, or take part in a written interview or marketing research.

Compensation: €20 per assignment
