Several activist groups have announced meetings and actions on the Roeterseiland Campus (REC) for Wednesday, 6 May. A walk-out has been announced at the REC for 14:30, after which people will gather on the lawn. The participants will then walk past a number of UvA buildings towards the Spui.

No renewed cooperation

The reason for the demonstration is allegations of militarisation of the university and cooperation with Israel. It has been suggested that the Executive Board is considering renewed cooperation with Israeli institutions. That is not the case. Safe campus

We understand that the action by students and staff may stir up emotions and concerns, and it may also cause some disruption. Demonstrations are allowed, and for that reason the UvA will do everything possible to guide the actions in the right direction and ensure a safe campus. In principle, all UvA buildings will remain open as normal. However, if the situation calls for it, one or more buildings may temporarily close their doors.
