In this way, our buildings can continue to make a direct contribution to student success, job satisfaction, and the quality of education, research and valorisation.

In recent months, the Joint Meeting (GV)External link, students and staff have provided valuable input on the plan. The Joint Meeting issued a positive recommendation. The questions, suggestions and points for attention from the central representative advisory bodies and the consultation helped to further refine the final version. This is reflected in the final plan. The final plan places additional emphasis on:

• Involvement of students, staff and other users in the further development of the plans
• Good on-campus facilities: places where people can take a break, eat, and meet
• Quality at the Oudemanhuispoort and BG5, with a focus on buildings that are safe, sustainable, and pleasant to use
• A careful assessment when considering buildings that no longer meet our housing needs. In doing so, we look not only at usage and costs, but also at history, sustainability, and the significance of a building to the UvA and the city.
