The decision to end the subscription is made because the contract is expiring, the renewal costs are high, and the number of active users is relatively limited.
Zotero and Mendeley offer similar functionalities to RefWorks. ZoteroExternal link is free, user-friendly, and already widely used within the UvA community. In April and coming autumn, the UvA Library organizes workshops about Zotero.
RefWorks users with an active account have also been notified by email about the end of the subscription.
