You’ll find 500 additional study spaces in Building JK on Roeterseiland Campus, spread across the basement and ground floor. The rooms are open from 08:00 to 20:00 on weekdays. At weekends, you can also study in Building H at Roeterseiland. The Library Learning Centre is open every day until 23:00, across all three floors.

Bushuis opens at the weekend

On Saturday, 17 October, and Sunday, 18 October, the Bushuis will be open from 09:00  to 18:00. There are 335 additional study spaces available in the study loft, the workshop room, the Kartini Room, and in rooms F1.14, F2.11B, and F2.11C. Be sure to bring your UvA student ID card, as access is only granted with a valid card.

Studying late or in peace?

During exam periods, the University Library in the University Quarter is open until midnight on all floors. It’s perfect if you want to keep working a little longer in the evening.

Want to be sure of a quiet place to study? Science Park is a good option. It’s less crowded than Roeterseiland, so you can really focus. There are about 900 study spots available.

Access and house rules

During the exam period, you need a valid physical UvA student card to enter the University Library. Students from other universities are not permitted entry. Do not reserve a spot for someone else.

Bicycle parking

Use the University Library’s underground bike parking facility on Vendelstraat or the bike parking facilities on the Roeterseiland Campus. Please note the closing times: REC A closes at 22:30, and REC E closes at 23:00 p.m.
