Students met with the admissions committee if they stood out in their talent for teaching, had a demonstrable affinity for knowledge transfer, and could convincingly explain why they wanted to obtain a first-degree teaching qualification in one of the beta shortage subjects: physics, chemistry, mathematics, or computer science. The best candidates were awarded one of the grants, amounting to €8000, for tuition fees, study materials, housing, and daily expenses.

In September, the first motivated grant winners started their teacher training. They have since given their first lessons. We were curious: how are they doing now? We spoke to the grant winners about their experiences so far. What did we find? The transition to teaching is intense, but above all, inspiring.
