Respect and Safety on Campus During Election Season

Published on 13-10-2025
As students of the Amsterdam Law School, we are an integral part of society. This is reflected in the debates, demonstrations and media presence on campus. In the run-up to the national elections on 29 October – for instance through Room for Discussion interviews with political leaders – debates may become more intense.

Our Shared Responsibility

The Faculty Student Council (FSR) and the Works Council (OR) of the Amsterdam Law School are convinced that meaningful discussions and constructive debates can only take place in an atmosphere of mutual respect and openness. By adhering to the University’s house rules and treating one another with care, we can ensure that this election season contributes positively to our faculty community.

There are also specific rulesExternal link on filming on campusExternal link, designed to maintain a safe and inclusive environment for everyone present in UvA facilities.

Support and Reporting

If you find yourself in a situation where someone’s behaviour violates these rules or makes you feel uncomfortable, please contact the Reporting Point for Social Safety and IntegrityExternal link (Meldpunt Sociale Veiligheid). This applies to behaviour by both members of the university community and external parties. The Reporting Point offers access to confidential advisers, support for academic staff experiencing threats or intimidation, and other available forms of assistance.
