New student assessor Sara introduces herself

A short introduction
My name is Sara (23) and originally I’m from Germany. Currently, I am pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration, with a focus on Strategy. Before that, I studied Media & Information and did a minor in Managing Strategy & Marketing at the UvA. In my free time, I enjoy meeting friends, traveling, and doing various sports, such as tennis, pilates, or spinning.
The student assessor bridges the gap between students and the Executive Board. What motivated you to become a student assessor?
I was particularly interested in taking a look behind the scenes at the university. I think it is important that students continue to be given transparency and I can help achieve this by supporting both sides, the students and the faculty.
Which themes are important to you this year?
I think the transition from studying to starting your first job is an important topic. Especially for international students it can be a challenge to find a job in the Netherlands. In addition, AI is an important topic. I think it’s important that students are informed the possibilities and challenges of AI, as this helps them prepare for their future career.
What is at the top of your agenda?
First, I would like to investigate what needs students have this academic year. I will then combine these with the important issues from previous years and share my thoughts on this.
