The vacancy for student assessor at Economics and BusinessExternal link is now open for applications. Curious to know what it’s like to be student assessor? We spoke with current student assessor Marco Caminada about what he learned and achieved, and why you should apply for this role.
‘In my role as student assessor, I learned how decision-making at the administrative level works and how much influence students can actually have when their voice is properly represented. I gained extensive experience in policy meetings and in formulating positions. Additionally, I significantly developed my communication skills, particularly in translating complex policy documents into language that resonates with students.’
‘I wanted to ensure that students' voices are truly heard when it comes to important decisions about our education and our future. During my studies, I noticed that students often have valuable ideas and concerns, but don’t always know where to take them. The role of student assessor offers a unique opportunity to actively do something about that.’
‘This position is a unique opportunity to grow both professionally and personally. You learn how a large organisation like the university operates, get the chance to expand your network, and truly make an impact on student life and education. Moreover, you learn to collaborate with people at all levels — from students to deans — and you gain experience that will benefit you in any future career. If you’re engaged, want to build bridges, and are looking for a meaningful challenge, then this role is definitely for you.’
