The UvA values studying safely online. For Canvas, your digital learning environment, and other systems you log in with your UvAnetID, you need two-step verification (MFA) as an additional security measure. Within the UvA, we use the Microsoft Authenticator app as a method for two-step verification.

Breaches of our systems almost always result from the misuse of passwords. With two-step verification via the Microsoft Authenticator app, we add an extra layer of protection.
