Coffee or tea? Don’t forget your cup!

A friendly reminder: last academic year, we stopped using disposable cups at all UvA locations. Since then, students and staff have been using their own reusable cups. This change is a result of the Single-Use Plastic legislation. Additionally, since last year, the use of plastic disposable packaging in the restaurants has been reduced.

Keys, check. Phone, check. Cup, check!
So, before you head out the door, remember to grab your cup. This simple habit makes a big difference for the environment. Last year, we used over 2 million disposable cups at UvA! On average, they ended up in the trash after just 10 minutes. A reusable cup can be used repeatedly, and if we all do it, we’ll significantly reduce waste.
Don’t have a cup?
If you don’t yet have a reusable cup for coffee or tea, you can purchase one at various locations, such as the restaurants, espresso bars, SchoolSupply vending machines, beverage vending machines and the UvA store.
