Celebrate Purple Friday at the UvA

On Friday, 13 December, it’s Purple Friday again! On this day, students and pupils across the Netherlands show their solidarity with LGBTQ+ people by wearing purple. It's a day we also celebrate at the UvA. UvA Pride, the network for the LGBTQIA+ community at the UvA, is organising a variety of events.

Highlights of the UvA programme:

  • The Amsterdam Law Hub turns purple! Information will be shared about social safety and how students can be good allies.
  • At Science Park, you can play games, take part in a drag quiz and enjoy purple mocktails. Proceeds from this event will go to charity.
  • In the evening, starting from 17:00, SOHOExternal link will turn purple! You’re warmly invited to join the celebration of love, diversity, and solidarity – don't forget to dress in purple! The first drink is on the house.
