What is your study programme?

ALPHA encourages mutual cooperation between student associations and magazines and supports its members with a financial contribution. ALPHA is therefore the link between the UvA and the associations and magazines. General Council meetings and magazine meetings take place several times a year, with the emphasis on the distribution of subsidies. In addition, the board organizes activities where the FGw boards can get to know each other better and ALPHA has the privilege of organizing a New Year’s gala for all FGw students.

We are looking for a chair, secretary and treasurer for the new board. The chair is the face of the association with responsibilities such as preparing and leading the meetings and maintaining an overview. The secretary takes the minutes during the meetings, keeps track of the e-mail and takes care of the newsletter. The treasurer’s duties consist of preparing the budget and realization, assessing subsidy applications and maintaining accounts.

In addition to the personal views of each board member, alternative topics are discussed during the meetings that are discussed and decided upon by the entire board. This topic is mainly about the possibilities for (individual) help, retention with the UvA and co-organizing the Warm Welcome Week in September.

Have you experienced a board year before and are afraid ALPHA will take up a lot of time too? No need to worry, because besides the mandatory meetings (only about 7 a year) and a board meeting once every two weeks, you will only need about an hour a week for you own individual tasks according to you position within the board.

Are you interested in taking on a board position? Please complete this Google FormExternal link and we will contact you as soon as possible. If you have any questions or doubts, please email us at alpha-fgw@uva.nlExternal link so we can answer all your questions.
