For the past two years, the UvA has been working behind the scenes to improve its course registration system and improve student satisfaction. Students from various degree programmes and academic years were closely involved in testing the improved course registration process. The insights gained from these tests were used to further optimise our course registration system. The initiative reflects our commitment to improving information provision for students as part of the digital agenda (the UvA's digitalisation strategy).
You can register for courses from Monday, 5 December at 10:00 to Monday, 12 December at 13:00. This will ensure that you have plenty of time to register for the courses you want to take in the second semester of the 2022-2023 academic year.
You will always have a clear overview of the available courses and know when to register. There is also no need for everyone to log in simultaneously at 8:00, and all students will have guaranteed access to the compulsory subjects for each programme. An algorithm will automatically schedule you to ensure a feasible academic schedule. Your personal scheduling preferences will obviously be taken into account.
A step-by-step plan has been developed in order to provide you with the support you need. Additional attention has also been devoted to various key points, such as the procedure for switching to a different working group. You also won't need to choose tutorials; the course registration system will match your scheduling preferences with the available tutorials as closely as possible. Not satisfied? You can submit a request to switch until the end of the final week before the start of the period.
See the various steps and areas for attention on the Course registration page.
