Student Council elections 2025
This is the moment for you to decide who will represent you in the University of Amsterdam’s Executive Board.
The party you vote for will help make decisions on issues that directly affect you – from the quality of education to sustainability to campus facilities.
For every vote cast, the UvA will donate €1 to Doctors Without Borders, so your vote will have a double impact!
Your vote makes a difference
The student councils really do have influence. They hold rights of consent and advice, meaning the UvA’s Executive Board must consult them – and sometimes even needs their approval – for important decisions.
The councils also launch their own initiatives. Think of the launch of the Nieuwe Mensa, where you can get a healthy and affordable lunch, or the free menstrual products in the toilets – made possible thanks to the councils’ efforts.
How do you vote?
You can vote via stem.uva.nl. On the first day of the elections, you’ll also receive an email with a voting link. Voting is open from Friday, 9 May at 9:00 until Friday, 16 May at 23:59.
Who do you vote for?
There is the Central Student Council (CSR) for the entire UvA. In addition, each faculty has its own Faculty Student Council (FSR). You are entitled to vote for the CSR and the FSR of the faculty or faculties where you study. This year, 11 parties are running in total, 6 of which for the CSR.
