Workshop: The art of cooking perfect rice

Imagine the aroma of freshly cooked Japanese rice, prepared in a traditional clay pot. Discover how small details make the difference between ordinary rice and truly perfect rice. This is your chance on Friday 12 June at the Roeterseiland Campus.

Together with CHABON STAND and the Japanese team Extreme Suihaning International (ESI), the Food & Drink team at Facility Services, in collaboration with CIRFOOD, is organising a unique and accessible workshop. Led by a certified 5-star Rice Master from Japan – who normally trains chefs in Michelin-starred restaurants – you will learn in 45 minutes the traditional art of cooking perfect Japanese rice in a clay pot.

If there is time at the end of the session, you will shape the freshly cooked rice into simple onigiri for tasting.

Capacity: maximum 5 participants per session (first come, first served)
Cost: €5 for students, €10 for staff (paid in advance via the registration form)
