What is systematic and systemic discrimination? Everyone has blind spots, and everyone says things that hurt others from time to time, even without meaning to. But how do you react when you see or hear something like that? And what do you do if you’re the one being called out?

In this interactive workshop, we will explore what discrimination is and how it is embedded in our cultural system. We will then focus on engaging in conversation: why it's important to respond appropriately, whether you are a bystander or the person making a comment. We will look at practical tips and practise applying them, both when addressing someone and when being addressed. This is not about perfection, but about how you handle the conversation and being addressed.

Please note that the workshop will be in Dutch. It is run by trainers from Stichting SexmattersExternal link and organised by the Diversity Office of the Faculty of Humanities. Do you have any questions about the workshop? If so, you can reach out to inclusion-fgw@uva.nlExternal link.
