Join the annual Faculty Spring Festival Celebration on 19 February. The programme is organised in collaboration with Media and Culture student Alicia Văcaru and students who all grew up with this tradition.
Programme
- 16.30 Doors open
- 17.00 - 17.30 Introduction: Welcome word by Alicia Văcaru and welcoming dragon dance ritual
- 17.30 - 19.30 Ongoing creative activities & performances: Calligraphy workshop, papercutting and fan decorating, guqin performance by LeYun (Lena) Cheng, zodiac sign reading, and dance performance by Yuewin Bai and Siyu (Lydia) Zhou
- 19.30 Closing vocal performance by ChengHao Peng
About the Spring Festival Celebration
The Spring Festival marks the beginning of the new year according to the Lunar calendar. It is a time for family reunions, honoring ancestors, and celebrating new beginnings. It lasts for fifteen days, culminating in the Lantern Festival which is celebrated on the fifteenth day of the new year.
Practical information
This celebration is for all students and staff with an interest in cultural exchange. Admission is free and registration is not required. Workshops are on a first-come, first-served basis.
