Depression and cardiovascular disease are closely linked, but the mechanisms behind this relationship remain unclear. This thesis investigates whether sleep as a multidimensional behaviour can help explain this connection.

Using mediation analysis, the role of several sleep characteristics is examined. The symptom level interactions are then examined using network analysis.

The goal of the study is to move beyond simplified measurements for sleep and to find possible points of intervention within the depression-CVD relation.
