Although Bayes factors can indicate inconclusive evidence, it is uncertain whether this allows Bayes factors to yield a lower proportion of incorrect model selections in small samples than frequentist confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) methods. This study investigated the performance of Bayes factors, likelihood ratio tests (LRTs), and frequentist and Bayesian approximate model fit indices in small-to-moderate samples of simulated two-factor data.
